How can my children have a plastic-free childhood?

Do you think it is possible to give your children a childhood without plastic? Wondering how to do it or at least get started? You have come to the right place. We have collected some of our best tips to get you started and with the right attitude it is possible to give your children a plastic-free childhood.

A plastic-free childhood

Not everybody knows that plastic contains toxic chemicals that are harmful for children - and even adults. Not only is it bad for humans' health but it is also damaging the environment in larger scales than ever before.

If we want to leave a better world for the next generations, we need to start teaching our children ways to reduce our plastic footprints. Teaching our children the importance of eliminating plastic from their daily routine from the very beginning is the best thing we as parents can do for the future generations.

Get your children involved and help them adopt more eco-friendly habits that can carry well into adulthood.

Step by step

Start by avoiding plastic in your children's toys, dishes and care items. Choose eco-friendly options that are safe for your children to put in their mouths, on their skin etc. Choose:

  • Toys made from sustainable wood or fabric such as organic cotton or other organic/sustainable materials.
  • Care items, shampoo, lotions etc. that are based on natural and organic ingredients and that are free from harmful chemicals.
  • Dishes in materials that are sustainable responsible which could be porcelain bought secondhand or dishes made from the natural material bamboo.
Luckily, we have some different options in our online shop that you can check out. We love the dining sets from Danish brand Filibabba that are perfect for small children and their eating habits.
